I - The Vagabond
II - Mad Tom Tatterman
III - Mamble
IV - Two Ships

V - The Toll-Gate House

Ever since finding a copy of poems called Tides by John Drinkwater in a little old Malvern bookshop one rainy Sunday I have loved his poetry and found it ideal to set to music.

This song-cycle for tenor voice and piano sets five poems and includes the Two Ships, which is dedicated to the memory of a dear college friend who tragically committed suicide.
