It has long been my intention to write a Sonatina for each of the traditional instruments. So I am delighted to have composed this work for the oboe, a beautiful instrument that I used to make sound like a trumpet when I was at school (I did achieve Grade 3 though). The Sonatina in three movements, explores both the expressive and articulate qualities of the oboe. Both instruments carry equal weight throughout.
