For some time now I have lamented the lack of a really useful piano duet book that I could use with my piano students for both sight-reading practise and duet playing. I am delighted to have written one specially. Both parts, primo and secondo, are of the same standard (approx Grade 1) with the secondo part being slightly easier. The pages are laid out so that the secondo part is on the left and the primo on the right, which makes reading and page turns easier. The titles were suggested by students and describe the pieces rather well - such as Distorted Faces, and An Unexpected Turn.
Now in print and available to buy. Kyrie is a short work influenced by medieval music for recorder consort - 1 descant, 2 trebles, 2 tenors and 1 bass.
I have wanted for some time to write for Silver Band and finally have achieved it with my 'Cheltenham Rag'. There may be a bit of a theme here - Cheltenham Symphony, Cotswold Songs.... I think the new work captures perfectly the atmosphere of Cheltenham on a sunny day, just like the first time I ever visited here. And the Promenade was an area for promenaders in Victoriam times. I can see them swinging along to my Cheltenham Rag. God bless Scott Joplin!
Five O'Clock Blues & Evening Shadows is a new publication of recently composed pieces for piano solo written in a more 'Jazzy' style.
