The passing of Andrew Downes

Very sad to hear of the passing of my friend and mentor Andrew Downes. Andrew recognised and nurtured the composer in me. He gave me a place on the composition course at the Birmingham School of Music (now Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK) and I will be ever grateful for that opportunity. RIP Andrew and thank you for your music, kindness, sense of humour and inspiration.
